Job summary

RRD is seeking a Warehouse Associate to assist with filling and packaging orders from the warehouse in preparation for shipment. You will help maintain warehouse inventory and support continuous improvement efforts.

The role involves picking/packaging printed materials, assembling shipments, and operating warehouse software. Candidates should have basic packing knowledge, good communication skills, and be able to flex schedules and use ladders when needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ year of relevant working experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment required.
• Must be able to read and interpret job specifications and identify the correct parts for fulfilling customer orders.
• Must have very good oral and written communication skills sufficient to explain procedures.
• Basic knowledge of routine packing procedures, techniques, equipment and general warehouse procedures.
• Able to stock, move, arrange, and rotate items per operating instructions.
• Able to complete forms relating to stock description, quantity, and labeling requirements.
• Skilled in assembling standard shipping boxes and packing contents securely.
• Basic use of shrink-wrap, pallet jacks, hand trucks and related material handling tools.
• Must be willing to flex schedule including overtime or different shift.
• Must be able to use a ladder to reach items or retrieve boxes.

Job Description

Assist with filling and/or packaging orders from the warehouse in preparation for shipment. Help maintain the warehouse and inventory of products and/or customer supplied materials. Assist with training and continuous improvement efforts.

• Pick or package a variety of printed materials or related items using a variety of packing procedures and techniques.
• Follow detailed procedures to perform routine packing work. Assemble finished products into boxes or containers for shipping.
• Operate computers and relevant warehouse management software.
• Perform related tasks such as placing labels on packages, putting manuals into binders, and handling boxes for final product. Ensure accurate shipping information is attached and packages are shipped according to specified schedule.
• Place, arrange, mark, seal, and tag items in bundles, on pallets and/or in containers, bins, and bulk storage.
• Meet established productivity and quality standards.
• Identify potential issues and involve department Lead and/or management to determine an appropriate solution.
• Participate in continuous training and development of employees and temporary labor.
• Count and sort various product items.
• May feed, remove, flex, jog, and stack printed sheets, folded signatures, labels or other in-process product to and from the equipment in the area assigned.
• Load and unloads materials onto pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand. May load materials into trucks and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools.
• Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, or other device. May occasionally operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• May assist with special projects or more complex customer orders.
• Assist with maintaining the security and safety of the warehouse.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Able to stock, move, arrange, and rotate items in accordance with operating instructions or under guidance of a higher-level employee.
• Able to complete appropriate forms relating to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and the labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials.
• Skill in assembling standard shipping boxes and packing contents securely.
• Basic skill in the use of shrink-wrap or strapping equipment’s, manual dollies, pallet jacks, carts or hand trucks and hand tools used in material handling tasks such as strapping and stretch wrapping tools and equipment, tape fasteners, metal band sheers and related equipment.
• Basic arithmetic to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Must be willing to flex schedule to meet the needs of production, including working overtime or a different shift, if needed.
• Must be able to use a ladder to pick items or to retrieve boxes or materials.

Base Pay Range $15.50 - $18.00 + $1 Shift Differential
