The position requires NYS registration as a Pharmacy Technician, a current certification, and 1–3 years of relevant experience. High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification is required, with any specialized certifications as needed.
• Current NYS license as a registered Pharmacy Technician required as of 4/25/21.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacists in non-professional aspects of preparing and dispensing medications, fills, packages, labels and stocks medications.
• Label containers of drugs according to department specifications and fill medication orders in outpatient area.
• Calculate required dosing and day supply for orders; maintain records and reports; resolve third party rejects and respond to high-volume inquiries.
• Enter and process orders into the computer system; maintain clean work environment; manage inventory at workstations.
• Operate point-of-sale system per policies; handle inbound/outbound communications with patients and prescribers.
• Follow FDA mandates and manufacturer restrictions; assist with medication order statistics and records.
• Picks up and maintains daily inventory; performs related duties as essential.
