Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Pharmacist to deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care for our mail-order patients. The role involves reviewing prescriptions, clarifying requirements with physicians, and ensuring accurate workflow to meet production goals.

Responsibilities include patient education, drug interaction assessments, and interdepartmental collaboration to resolve inquiries promptly. Prior experience in pharmacy operations is preferred, with emphasis on accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• Review prescriptions for accuracy and request clarifications as needed.
• Communicate drug interactions and safety issues to patients and physicians.
• Transfer prescriptions between pharmacies per state and federal laws.
• Provide drug information education to patients and staff.
• Demonstrate strong time management and multi-tasking in a mail order setting.
• Support training and quality improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Review prescriptions for accuracy and flag issues for clarification.
• Communicate with prescribers for clarifications before processing.
• Transfer prescriptions between pharmacies per laws.
• Evaluate prescriptions for accuracy and drug history in the system.
• Assist training of staff to reduce order-entry errors.
• Fill and pack Schedule 2 substances with accurate inventory.
• Handle medication consultations via phone with plan members.
• Collaborate across departments for timely requests and resolutions.
• Participate in quality improvement and education activities.
• Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
