Job summary

AmeriCorps VISTA positions support GOALS’ Magnolia Science Academy partnership, developing sustainable systems for partnership development, grant and sponsorship efforts, and program planning. The role focuses on outreach, resource creation, evaluation, and sustaining GOALS operations beyond the service term.

The position centers on educating and engaging stakeholders, researching potential schools, and building tools to ensure ongoing impact. Program start date is 10/19/2026 with a 1-year term.

Responsibilities

• Assess GOALS' Magnolia Science Academy relationship and identify growth opportunities.
• Research prospective schools and partners; create outreach resources, meeting tools, and agreement templates.
• Build a partnership tracking system and develop funding and resource-development tools.
• Create evaluation, reporting, sustainability, and transition tools for GOALS staff continuity.

Job description

The GOALS Success Through Service project strengthens GOALS’ long-term capacity to reduce poverty-related barriers that limit low-income and at-risk students’ access to high-quality physical education, wellness, STEM-connected learning, and afterschool enrichment opportunities. Through the Magnolia Science Academy partnership and related school-community relationships, the AmeriCorps VISTA will develop, pilot, evaluate, and transfer sustainable systems for partnership development, educational grant and sponsorship development, program planning, stakeholder engagement, evaluation, and organizational transition.

Member Duties

AmeriCorps member(s) will assess GOALS’ current Magnolia Science Academy relationship and identify opportunities for growth. They will research prospective schools and partners, create outreach resources, meeting tools, and agreement templates, and build a partnership tracking system. They will also develop funding and resource-development tools, including grant and sponsorship calendars, proposal resources, and in-kind support planning. Finally, they will create evaluation, reporting, sustainability, and transition tools so GOALS staff can continue the work after the service term.
