Job summary

Magna-Power Electronics, a Flemington, NJ based electronics manufacturer, seeks a Magnetics Winding & Assembly Technician to join our team. You will assemble and wind magnetic components for transformers and inductors, reading blueprints and electrical diagrams to meet precise specifications.

The role emphasizes hands-on fabrication, soldering, crimping, varnishing and testing magnetic assemblies for powertrains, energy research, and national defense applications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; a 4-year degree or combination of experience and degree is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year related experience is required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and laminate main magnetic components according to specifications.
• Twist, bend, trim, strip, and crimp transformer wire leads to required lengths.
• Solder wire leads of transformers/inductors using soldering iron or pot.
• Varnish and bake transformers per procedures.
• Glue and clamp various chopper chokes.
• Read blueprints and schematics.
• Assemble inductors according to specs.
• Wind coils (with or without machinery) per data sheets.
• Operate core machine for steel cores in transformer assembly.

Position Responsibilities

• Assembling and laminating main magnetic components according to required specifications
• Using hand tools to twist, bend, trim, strip, and crimp wire leads of transformers to required lengths
• Soldering wire leads of transformers/inductors using hand soldering iron or solder pot
• Varnishing and baking transformers in the oven according to department procedures
• Gluing and clamping various chopper chokes
• Reading blue prints and schematics
• Assembling various inductors according to required specifications
• Winding coils (with or without machinery assistance) as specified by data sheets and electrical diagrams
• Operating core machine for manufacturing steel cores in assembly of the transformers

Education & Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (Required); 4 year degree or combination of experience and degree (Preferred)
• Minimum 1-year related experience (Required)
• Good mechanical aptitude using hand and power tools
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math
• Knowledge in performing crimping, soldering, and assembly (Preferred)
• Knowledge and understanding of BOMs, assembly drawings and other related manufacturing documents (Preferred)
