Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Detroit, MI is seeking an MRI Technologist to perform MRI imaging studies, prepare patients, and optimize protocols. You will position patients and adjust parameters to obtain high-quality images.

The role requires ARMRIT/ARRT MRI certification preferred and BCLS; training will be provided to meet MRI registry within 12 months of hire. This is a full-time on-site position across Michigan facilities.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED. Continued education hours required.
• Current BCLS/HCP certification required.
• Two years of radiography experience recommended but not mandatory.

Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, performs magnetic resonance imaging studies using a magnetic resonance imaging device, which includes preparing patients, positioning, setting imaging parameters, and performing computer processing and displaying images. Assists in developing protocol for patient studies. Performs quality control procedures on equipment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
• Must maintain the required hours of continued education.
• Healthcare Provider certification required. (BCLS) Two (2) years of experience in Radiography is recommended but not mandatory.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

Current certification with the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT), or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (MRI) preferred. MRI board certification (ARRT) (MR) must be achieved within 12 months of the date of hire if:

• - A registered Radiographer (ARRT)(R) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• - A registered Sonographer (ARDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• - A registered Nuclear Medicine Tech (ARRT) (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or board certified (NMTCB) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board.

Failure to obtain MRI registry within the designated time frame will result in termination of the Magnetic Resonance Technologist position.
