Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required.
• Two (2) years teaching experience required; Or an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities deemed sufficient to prepare the employee to successfully perform the duties of the position.
• Hold or be eligible for educator certificate/license issued by Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) required.

Responsibilities

• Attends and actively participates in staff/faculty meetings and special committees, and provides input regarding the planning of instructional goals, objectives and methods.
• Evaluates student progress using appropriate assessment techniques and records results.
• Maintains order and discipline in the classroom and ensures safety of students and equipment.
• Selects and uses appropriate instructional strategies to present subject matter and achieve learning objectives.
• Counsels pupils and communicates with parents regarding progress and issues, including conferences as necessary.
