Job description

The Magic Dragon Children’s Center is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Director. This is a full-time school-year position, including an additional two weeks of work during the summer prior to the start of the school year. The position is Monday-Friday, with varying hours between 7:00 a.m. - 5:15 p.m., for a total of 30 hours per week.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education or related field
  • EEC Director I/Director II qualification
  • Previous administrative/leadership experience in a childcare or educational setting with demonstrated responsibilities overseeing childcare operations, including EEC compliance, quality assurance, and facility operations
  • Professional demeanor and ability to calmly handle challenging/difficult situations with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite.
  • Experience with Procare Software and/or Unipay system is preferred
  • Excellent communication, organization, and planning skills

Essential Functions of the Role:

  • Assist in day-to-day operation of the Magic Dragon Children’s Center
  • Supervise staff and oversee curriculum
  • Ensure staff and student records are accurate and current and in compliance with NAEYC and EEC
  • Communicate with children, families, school staff and administration
  • Handle program registration process, account billing, recording of payments, payroll, program purchases, monthly newsletter, and program website
  • Perform all other duties as deemed necessary and assigned by the Director of the Magic Dragon Children’s Center, the Director of Community Education, and the Superintendent of Duxbury Public Schools

Specifics:

  • 30 hours per week, Monday – Friday
  • Availability to work between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
  • School year position plus two weeks (64 hours) during the summer
