JW Michaels & Co. is seeking a Compliance Associate in Miami to support the Global Macro business with day-to-day regulatory and policy adherence.

The role involves implementing real-time controls, conducting investigations, and guiding colleagues through complex regimes across rates, FX, commodities, and derivatives. Ideal candidates bring a JD, 3+ years in macro/trading compliance, and strong communication skills to explain complex rules to non-legal teams while upholding the firm’s ethical

Formación

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to explain complex legal and compliance concepts to non-legal audiences
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to the highest ethical standards
• Experience designing and operating trade surveillance, pre-trade controls, and post-trade investigations
• Practical experience analyzing laws and regulations related to commodity interests and securities (SEC Rule 10b-5, CFTC Rule 180.1, MNPI)
• 3+ years of compliance experience supporting macro or trading businesses at hedge funds, asset managers, or brokers-dealers

Responsabilidades

• Provide guidance to the Global Macro business on compliance across rates, FX, EM, credit, asset-backed securities, and macro derivatives strategies
• Embed and enforce real-time compliance controls with macro portfolio managers and trading teams
• Support pre-trade and post-trade monitoring and investigations to detect breaches
• Perform diligence reviews for new products, markets, brokers, and counterparties with timely decisions and documentation
• Conduct complex compliance reviews, produce findings and remediation plans, and manage escalations to senior compliance leaders
• Coordinate with legal, risk, finance, operations, technology, and vendors to implement compliance solutions
• Contribute to regulatory readiness efforts and respond to inquiries or examinations related to macro trading
• Monitor global regulatory developments and translate into policy updates and process improvements
• Deliver new-hire and annual macro-based compliance training for macro teams
• Chaperone calls/meetings between macro professionals and third parties
• Support oversight and Compliance initiatives across the firm
• Serve as SME to the Compliance team and investment professionals on firm policies and procedures
