About The Role

The role is responsible for manufacturing replacement and new parts for industrial machinery. Fabricate, machine, erect, install, and maintain machinery.

  • Full-time, hours vary.
  • Overtime is required.
  • Location: Tacoma, WA
  • Salary range is based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Calculate dimensions or tolerances, using instruments, such as micrometers or vernier calipers.
  • Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
  • Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations; Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
  • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products.
  • Support metalworking projects from planning and fabrication through assembly, inspection, and testing, using knowledge of machine functions, metal properties, and mathematics.
  • Install repaired parts into equipment or install new equipment.
  • Dismantle machines or equipment, using hand tools or power tools to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts where needed.
  • Assemble machine tools, parts, or fixtures.
  • Measure dimensions of completed products or workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Operate cutting and grinding equipment.
  • Review blueprints or other instructions to determine operational methods or sequences.
  • Conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Candidate Requirements

  • Welding experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must have advanced mathematical knowledge, including arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Must have knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Must have the ability to work both in groups and independently.
  • Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable to fulfill obligations to the customer.
  • Job requires analytical thinking; analyzing information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems.
  • Job requires creativity and alternative thinking to develop new ideas and answers to complete tasks.
  • Job requires excellent attention to detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  • You must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds.
  • Successful candidates must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, and have an acceptable 3-year Motor Vehicle Report as may be required by current company policy.
