Machinist - Weekend Shift (3x12 Schedule) Fri. Sat. & Sun.

Location: Kimball, TN facility.

Professional Summary

As a Machinist, you will set up, program, and operate CNC machines and other equipment, maintain quality and safety standards, and perform routine maintenance on equipment and supplies, ensuring production meets engineering specifications and safety guidelines.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering plans, material documents, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, and machining parameters, applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and lathes, including zeroing, tool register, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches, and verify programming accuracy.
  • Set up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting chucks, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; set bar feeder systems; measure positions and verify first‑run parts.
  • Detect malfunctions, troubleshoot operations, adjust or reprogram controls, and replace worn tools to maintain production quality.
  • Perform preventive maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations, document maintenance actions, and order repairs as needed.
  • Maintain accurate operational documentation, including production logs, quality logs, and safe‑operations records; communicate issues to supervisors and EHS personnel.

Required Education/Experience

Preferred
  • Advanced CNC programming certification.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to wear PPE such as safety glasses, steel‑toed footwear, or ear plugs.
  • Manual dexterity for handling objects with fingers.
  • Frequency of sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and ladder use as required.
  • Capability to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects between 25 and 50 pounds.
  • Ability to remain stationary or standing for extended periods, alternating positions as necessary.
  • Capacity for gross or fine manipulation and visual inspections.
