Job Summary: DuPont is seeking a Machinist for our Valley View, OH site! The site is in Valley View, Ohio south of Cleveland, near Interstate 77, Interstate 480, and the Ohio Turnpike. The facility employs about 135 people and manufactures compression molded, close tolerance-machined composite parts for major aerospace, commercial, and military aircraft engine manufacturers worldwide.

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be flexible, adaptable, dependable, reliable, and able to adjust to various challenges (such as changes to schedule, work environment, materials, and tooling). Machinists must possess solid communication skills (i.e., oral, written, and listening), be detail-oriented, and have good organizational skills. Associates must be self-motivated, and able to work independently or in a group environment.

We're offering a $500 sign-on bonus and a $500 bonus after 90 days for this position!

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

The Valley View location functions in a machining environment that is climate-controlled with air conditioning:

1. Set up and operate, in an efficient timely manner, a wide range of machine tools, both CNC and manual such as grinders, mills, lathes, and hones on a diverse range of products involving difficult operations, aerospace tolerances, and complex shapes.
2. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.
3. Work from and read blueprints as well as setting and checking work to various quality control gages.
4. Monitor product quality and troubleshoot to determine causes of operating errors and make decisions to solve any errors.
5. Confer with engineering, supervisory, or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.
6. Understand written instructions and be willing and able to communicate those instructions to others.
7. Read process instructions and drawings and recognize/attend to details.
8. Participate in customer audits and complete the Certified Operator Program (COP), DVV’s intensive, skills-based validation and training program.
9. Audit processes to ensure compliance with quality practices and work instructions throughout the facility.
10. Monitor production processes and control product processes, obtaining samples, and loading products.
11. Operate mobile transport equipment.
12. Facilitate corrective and preventive action related to supplier quality problems and source inspection issues.
13. Maintain quality metrics to facilitate positive, proactive operational change.

Education & Experience:

Required:

1. High School Diploma/GED.
2. 2+ years of machining experience OR a Machining Technology certificate.
3. Willing and able to work any shift based on the specific site requirements.
4. Willing and able to work overtime (including weekends, evenings, and holidays) as needed.
5. Knowledge of basic math.
6. Experience in machining composites, metals, and or aluminum extrusions.
7. Ability to read CNC programs.
8. Demonstrated ability to set up and operate manual and CNC equipment.
9. Proficient in shop math, including geometry and conversions.
10. Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and understand tolerance.
11. Demonstrated ability to use precision gages.
12. Knowledge of FANUC controls.
13. Excellent problem-solving/troubleshooting skills.
14. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred:

1. 3+ years of machining experience.
2. CNC machinist certification.
3. Knowledge/experience in Statistical Process Control.
