Kamatics, a division of Kaman that specializes in self-lubricating bearings and engineered products, is looking for talented CNC Machinists! We have a great opportunity for a dynamic and motivated CNC Machinist V with 5 axis milling experience to join our team in Bloomfield, CT on 1st shift in our Specials Value Stream. The core hours for the position are 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM and we are currently running one hour of mandatory overtime, at the beginning of the shift for a required 45 hours a week. Overtime pay is 1.5x the hourly rate for all hours in excess of 40 hours in a week. Machinist V

• Strong ability to setup and run all standard axis (5 axis preferred), numerically controlled machine tools to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring a high degree of skill


• Works from programs, operation sheets, and machine setup instructions


• Self-sufficient with all aspects of machine set up on machines within their area of responsibility


• May provide training, set-up, tool adjustment, trouble shooting, etc., support to others

• Proficient in use of shop math

• Troubleshoots basic programming errors such as taper, chatter and chip control


• Proficient in setting up CNC machine


• Works to standard in jaw-cutting, bringing a part to size and inspecting a part for a first piece


• Has working knowledge of the relationship between federate and surface finish as well as surface speed to material type
