Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Machinist Technician to support fabrication operations, including loading robots, removing burrs, and ensuring area cleanliness. You will work with hand and power tools to trim parts and prepare them for painting, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates will read blueprints, operate Plex systems, and collaborate with a team on 1st shift with relocation not offered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for prolonged periods
• Ability to perform repetitive operations
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Blueprint reading experience
• Ability to work as part of a team and undergo cross-training
• Effective communications skills

Responsibilities

• Utilize Plex system to determine product and procedure accuracy
• Provide support to operators
• Remove sharp edges/weld spatter from the entire part with hand tools and pneumatic grinders/buffers
• Perform final quality inspection of parts prior to painting processes
• Prepare part for transport to other departments
• Daily inspection of equipment to ensure safety and efficiency

A Machinist Technician is responsible for providing fabrication support activities including loading robots and ensuring cleanliness of area. Position will utilize hand and power tools to remove burrs and slag from machined parts.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize Plex system to determine product and procedure accuracy
• Provide support to operators
• Remove sharp edges/weld spatter from the entire part with hand tools and pneumatic grinders/buffers
• Perform final quality inspection of parts prior to painting processes
• Prepare part for transport to other departments
• Daily inspection of equipment to ensure safety and efficiency

All training will be on 1st shift for up to 2 months before moving to hired shift.
