Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a production operator at our Dyer, Indiana facility. You will perform assembly tasks, perform inspections, and prepare parts for shipping.

The role requires standing for long periods, ability to perform repetitive operations, and lifting up to 35 lbs, with initial training on 1st shift before transitioning to 3rd shift.

Qualifications

• Blueprint reading experience.
• Ability to work as part of a team and undergo cross-training.
• Effective communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Plex system to determine product and procedure accuracy.
• Dip/power pieces to ensure part is free from dirt and chips.
• Dip parts into rust remover.
• Oil parts prior to packaging.
• Final inspection of parts.
• Band work pieces and prepare for shipping.
• Hiring for 3rd shift. All training will be on 1st shift for up to 2 months before moving to hired shift.
