Position: Machinist (Slant Bed Turning) 2nd Shift
Schedule:

2nd Shift

Note:

Air-conditioned modern shop located in Northwest Houston with room for advancement for the right individual.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for setting up and operating conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. Responsibilities include:

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Experience with CNC lathe or mill.
  2. Install chuck jaws and fixtures on machines.
  3. Set up CNC machines using edge finders or probes to locate program zero.
  4. Read and adjust program speeds, feeds, and depth of cuts as required.
  5. Machine parts according to drawings.
  6. Measure parts, complete inspection reports, and adjust offsets.
  7. Perform other work-related functions as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
Core Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. At least 3 years of experience on CNC or manual machines.
  3. Ability to read and understand G-Codes and M-Codes using Fanuc controls.
  4. Able to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
  5. Experience machining valve components is a plus.
Other Requirements:
  1. Ability to machine exotic materials such as Titanium and Inconel.
  2. Ability to read blueprints and specifications to produce precision work.
  3. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  4. Self-directed with excellent initiative and organizational skills.
  5. Strong ability to handle multiple demands with urgency, drive, and energy.
  6. Ability to meet multiple deadlines and deliver on time.
  7. Training program available for manual machinists to learn CNC machines.
