Job description

Job Title: Machinist Mill (CNC) - 1st Shift

Location: US-CA-Huntington Beach

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team at Element Huntington Beach, a renowned Aerospace Testing Company serving clients such as Boeing, SpaceX, and Blue Origin. The role involves operating CNC machines to fabricate parts according to precise specifications, requiring a strong understanding of machining practices, blueprint reading, and quality control processes.

Shift Hours: 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Compensation: $30-38/hour depending on experience

Responsibilities:
  1. Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, routers, etc.) to produce parts as specified in engineering drawings.
  2. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files to ensure accurate machining of components.
  3. Load raw materials into machines and monitor machining operations for optimal performance.
  4. Inspect and measure finished products using precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure adherence to tolerances.
  5. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to minimize downtime.
  6. Make machine adjustments, offsets, and tool changes as required.
  7. Maintain accurate production records and complete job documentation.
  8. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  9. Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve machining issues and improve processes.
Skills / Qualifications:
  1. High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training in CNC machining preferred.
  2. 2+ years of experience programming CNC machines.
  3. Proficiency in reading blueprints and interpreting GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  4. Ability to program CNC Mill.
  5. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Solid math skills and mechanical aptitude.
Work Environment:
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to use hand tools and precision instruments.
  • Tolerance for noise and exposure to machining environments.

Note: This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, and software. U.S. citizenship, legal permanent resident status, or appropriate export authorization is required. Employment is contingent upon obtaining necessary export licenses.
