Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate lathe machines (manual or CNC) to produce metal parts.
• Check and review accuracy of work against blueprints and specs.
• Monitor and control feed rate and speed; adjust as needed.
• Plan cutting and finishing sequence; ensure proper lubrication/cooling.
• Maintain cleanliness and perform minor tool/tooling adjustments.

Responsible for the production of machined parts including API connections by setting up, and operating a manual or CNC machine lathe, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies. Machinists are expected to adhere all safety and quality policies of Drilling Tools International, Inc.Education:GED or High School Diploma preferredExperience:1-5 year of machining experience preferredFamiliarity of API threadsPrevious QC inspection and tool measurement experience preferredKey Responsibilities/ Essential Functions of the Position:Crane operations, lifting, holding and indicate partsOperate machine tools such as lathes to produce metal parts.Check and review accuracy of work against written blueprints and specificationsCalculate where to cut and boreDetermine how much material to removeMonitor and control feed rate and speedPlan the sequence of cutting and finishing operationsEnsure work piece is properly lubricated and/or cooledReplacement of dull cutting toolsGeneral clean up and maintenance of work areaMakes minor mechanical adjustments to equipment and assist maintenance manager with any major equipment repairsOther duties as assignedQualifications:Ability to communicate on technical issues.Ability to record tool specifications for quality and performance purposesMust be able to read and interpret charts, drawings and blueprintsMust be able to read, interpret and follow work instructionsProactive coordination with coworkers and supervisors to maintain peak productivityAbility to handle higher productivity levels with more detailed repair projectsWorks independently using best judgment with minimum supervision
