Greene, Tweed is seeking a Machinist Level 3 - Mill to join our Plastics Machining team in Kulpsville, PA. This 3rd shift position supports the production floor by operating CNC centers, lathes, and grinders, following blueprints and NC programs to manufacture precision components.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of machine center experience, is proficient with G-code, can read engineering drawings, and works with minimal supervision while ensuring quality and safety in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 36 months of machine center experience in production with NC programming, setup, troubleshooting and run.
• Ability to read, write and interpret engineer diagrams.
• G-code knowledge and ability to edit CNC programs for various lathes and mills.
• Ability to read and interpret production drawings and company documents.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC milling centers, lathes and grinders to fabricate components.
• Read blueprints and engineering drawings to guide fabrication.
• Set up machines, edit CNC programs, and run production with minimal supervision.
• Inspect parts using standard measuring instruments to ensure quality.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Comply with all federal and state environmental, health and safety regulations as well as any safety policies and protocols outlined by the company.
• Must be capable of working with blueprints, sketches and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
• Individual will be assigned to Plastics Machining and must be proficient in the operation of all CNC machining centers, semi-auto, and manual machines.
• Will be responsible for assisting (when requested) in the programming of the CNC equipment to manufacture various components, including first article approval and the operation of all necessary inspection equipment.
• Must be able to run jobs and edit programs for machining centers and/or automation.
• Must be able to setup and run production parts of more complex geometries (including, but not limited to grooves, notches, etc.) and within the allotted setup and run time.
• Perform fabrication of products, using customer or GT drawings with minimum supervision achieving production efficiency required including set up, troubleshooting and run.
• Make proper adjustments and assist operators to produce quality parts at a rapid pace as per production requirements.
• Must be proficient in the operation of Machine Centers in the area including operating multiple machines at once.
• Must be able to operate manual and Prototrak lathes, manual machines and grinders.
• Utilize all Standard Measuring Instruments, QMM, OGP and Optical Comparator and perform First Piece and 'in process' inspection as required to achieve acceptable reliability and repeatability targets.
• Must be proficient in machining thermoplastic and metal materials.
• Utilize required drawings, inspection sheets (generate new sheets as required)
• Operate ancillary equipment in the department.
• Record all information on GT data collection system as required
• Review and update all machine set-up documentation. Provide updated information to CNC programmer for inclusion in job documentation on a timely basis.
• Maintain good general housekeeping of work areas.
• Perform job in compliance with Greene, Tweed & Co. Quality Policy (AS9100 / ISO 9000).
• Participate in rotation of all milling machining equipment, as required.
• Perform all the duties as assigned by supervisor including active participation in team meetings for operational planning and improvement ideas.
• Perform required basic equipment maintenance (top off or adding fluid/oil, reposition water and air lines, chip removal, etc.) for all equipment assigned to the area.
• Perform all miscellaneous duties for the work area as directed
• If in voluntary training for Lathes then see JD for Machinist Level 3 - Lathe for responsibilities to be trained.
• Once Lathe training is completed then bidding on Machinist Level 4 would be available and will also be responsible for Lathe production on a limited capacity.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED or equivalent experience
• Must have obtained minimum of 36 months of Machine center experience in a production environment including NC programming knowledge, set up, troubleshooting and run.
• Must be able to read, write and interpret engineer diagrams
• Must possess G-code knowledge and be able to edit CNC Programs for various lathes and mills.
• Demonstrated ability to independently read and interpret production drawings, work instructions, Company documents and other specified requirements essential for performing standard job functions

Physical Requirements

• Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and safety shoes
• Ability to work long periods of time in a standing position
• Ability to occasionally work in positions requiring sitting and walking.
• Ability to occasionally work in positions requiring twisting, stooping, and grasping
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 55 pounds without the use of mechanical lifting devices or help from others.
