Walden's Machine, founded in 1976 by Charlie Walden, was purchased by Primus in 2006, and PCC acquired Primus in 2011. Walden's offers high-speed machining (3, 4 & 5 axis, medium/complex aluminum and hard metal machining), kitting, assembly, decorative coatings, airfoil/propulsion structures, and global supply chain management. The facility operates 24 hours with 340 employees.

Job Description

Position Summary:

Level Three - Building on level two, level three assembly mechanics work independently to assemble complex components according to print specifications, focusing on assemblies requiring high precision and mastery of tools. They mentor lower-level mechanics and contribute to developing new assembly processes. Typically, 3-5 years of related experience are required.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build complex assemblies independently, demonstrating high skill levels.
  • Perform advanced inspection to ensure proper alignment, clearance, cleanliness, and fastening.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace throughout the shift.
  • Assist and train lower-level mechanics as needed.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to assemble and troubleshoot complex assemblies.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and assembly tools such as clamps, rivet guns, countersinks, and drills.
  • Ability to use inspection tools like scales, micrometers, calipers, and feeler gauges.
  • Strong shop math and print reading skills.
  • Experience interpreting and researching customer specifications.
  • Training and mentoring capabilities.
  • Intermediate knowledge of computers and other devices.
  • Additional duties as needed based on business requirements.

Required Experience:

  • Demonstrated mastery of level two competencies with at least two years of experience.
  • Typically 3-5 years of related experience.

Level of Education:

  • GED or High School diploma preferred but not mandatory.

*4th Shift is Friday through Sunday, 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., working 36 hours but paid for 40 hours, with shift differential. Currently, we are only seeking 4th shift candidates.*
