Job summary

Flowserve US Inc. seeks an experienced CNC Machinist to operate and program DMG-Mori NT4300 machines, ensuring components meet print specifications. The role requires reading complex drawings, applying precise measuring tools, and maintaining a safe, efficient work center.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in CNC milling/turning, knowledge of G-code or conversational programming, and the ability to train others. This position supports a lean, safety-focused manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years’ experience in CNC machining.
• Working knowledge of DMG-Mori NT series machines.
• Adheres to zero-accident safety culture.
• Strong shop math including fractions, decimals, and trig.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and tolerances.
• For CNC machines, strong understanding of G-code and/or conversational programming.
• Knowledge of fixturing and safe/work holding.
• Understanding of turning and milling insert geometries and grades.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machining equipment including DMG-Mori NT4300.
• Program at the machine for CNC equipment.
• Machining of components to print dimensions and tolerances.

• Maintain an organized, safe work environment and drive improvements in safety and efficiency.
• Accurately completing all paperwork associated with tasks performed.

• May train lower-level employees or lead the manufacturing team.

ROLE SUMMARY:

• Setup and operation of manual and/or CNC machining equipment including DMG-Mori NT4300
• Ability to program at the machine for CNC equipment
• Machining of components to meet print dimensions and tolerances
• Parts measurement using tools such as, but not limited to Outside micrometer Inside micrometer Depth micrometer Digital, dial and vernier calipers Scales
• Maintaining an organized and safe work environment and help to drive improvements in the work center that will lead to increases in safety and efficiency
• Accurately completing all paperwork associated with tasks being performed
• Keeping up to date with all required trainings
• Working on a variety of parts and processes across multiple machines
• Relying on experience and judgement to complete assignments
• Duties and tasks can reflect substantial complexity and may require ingenuity within the area of expertise
• May train lower-level employees
• May be called upon to check the work of lower-level employees
• May be designated as a manufacturing lead employee

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Typically, greater than 10 years’ experience doing similar work
• Working knowledge of DMG-Mori NT series machines
• Understands and buys into a zero-accident safety culture expectation
• Strong shop math skills including arithmetic, conversion of fractions to decimals, basic trigonometry
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical/production drawings including tolerancing
• For CNC machines, a strong understanding of G-code and / or conversational programming
• Knowledge of fixturing and safe / effective work holding
• Firm understanding of turning and milling insert geometries and grades
• Understanding of cut conditions including appropriate feeds, speeds and depths of cut, heat inputs and work hardening

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

• Operation and setup of DMG-Mori NT4300 with MAPPS/Celos control
• Experience working with cast materials
• Previous experience machining stainless alloys and super alloys
• Previous experience with 5s and lean manufacturing principles
