Job summary

Honeywell Technologies is seeking a skilled Machinist Level 3 to drive precision machining operations at our Boyne City, MI facility on an on-site schedule. You will operate and program CNC mills and lathes, set up, troubleshoot, and ensure parts meet exact specifications.

You will read engineering drawings, use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and collaborate with engineering and quality teams to support continuous improvement and product quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with set ups, operation & troubleshooting of CNC Mills and/or Lathes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate production.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify part quality.
  • Familiarity with machine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.

Job Description

As a Machinist Level 3 here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in precision machining operations, ensuring the production of high-quality components that meet exact specifications. You will utilize your advanced machining skills to operate and program complex machinery, troubleshoot issues, and maintain optimal workflow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will report directly to our Production Supervisor, and you’ll work out of our Boyne City, MI location on an On-site work schedule.

In this role, you will impact product quality and manufacturing efficiency, contributing directly to Honeywell’s commitment to delivering reliable and innovative solutions to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and program CNC machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and work instruction specifications
  • Perform setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting of machining equipment to ensure optimal performance and quality output
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards
  • Maintain accurate production records and report any issues or deviations to supervisors promptly.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • 5+ Years of experience with doing set ups, operation & troubleshooting of CNC Mills and or Lathes in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate production
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify part quality
  • Familiarity with machine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maintain productivity
WE VALUE
  • College degree or technical certification in machining or manufacturing technology
  • Experience operating or programming a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine)
  • Knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing production priorities
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
