Machinist - Level 2 (FAA) - 2nd Shift (Finance)

We are seeking experienced machinists to join our team at Honeywell's Phoenix R&O facility.

As a Machinist Level II, your primary responsibilities will involve operating and maintaining machining equipment for the aviation industry, including CNC machine operation and maintenance, ensuring all work meets quality standards and specifications.

Reporting to the Machining Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in the efficiency and productivity of our repair and overhaul operations. Your attention to detail and machining expertise will contribute to our success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC machines according to specifications
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency
• Inspect finished parts to verify they meet aviation industry standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize repair and overhaul processes
• Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment

All applicants for DOT/FAA safety-sensitive positions will be required to undergo pre-employment drug testing for substances including Marijuana, Cocaine, Amphetamines, PCP, and Opioids. Compliance with the Honeywell Anti-drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Plan is mandatory.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 0-2 years of machinist experience, with proficiency in CNC and manual mills and lathes
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings specific to aviation components
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of machining processes and equipment used in aviation repair and overhaul
• High school diploma or GED
• Technical certification or associate degree in machining or related field
• Experience programming and editing CNC programs for aviation parts
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience in the aviation industry or FAA repair environment
• A&P License (a plus)
• Experience with SAP ERP systems (a plus)
