Job Description

Business Profile:
Wyman-Gordon is a worldwide supplier to the aerospace and industrial gas turbine markets. We hold quality accreditations for all the major airframe and engine manufacturers for both civil and military applications. Wyman-Gordon creates rotating closed-die forgings which are critical for aerospace and land-based gas turbines. Wyman-Gordon also manufactures structural forgings for airframe, nuclear, petrochemical, power generation, and space applications.

Location Profile:
Located in Ontario, CA, Summit Machine, LLC specializes in the rough and finish machining of super alloys for the aerospace, commercial, defense, power, and petroleum industries. Complex components include nickel base, titanium, stainless steel, aluminum and carbon steels with parts ranging in size from 2" OD - 120" OD.

This position will support 3rd shift operations (8:15pm - 4:45am, Su - Th), after training on 1st shift (4:15am - 12:45pm, M - F) for approximately 3 months. Shift premium will apply once working on 3rd shift.

Position Summary:
The Level 2 Machinist operates multiple 2-5 axis CNC lathe machines simultaneously, which requires machine setup including preparing and setting up fixtures and cutting tools, loading and adjusting CNC programs and offsets, performing inspections and basic preventative machine maintenance such as coolant and lube levels and area cleanliness. Competencies include the ability to use more advanced quality inspection tools and techniques. Must be able to demonstrate intermediate print reading and have experience with common CNC G and M codes, with a basic understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerance).

Experience & Education
* High school diploma or equivalent is required.
* 2 - 4 years of machinist experience is required.
* Experience in aerospace manufacturing, automotive, or mechanics preferred.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $22.00 to $26.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
