Job description

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Role/Purpose: The MP Machinist II is responsible for setting up and operating various machine tools to produce precision parts while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Physically and systematically receive and verify raw material receipts.
2. Safely load and unload materials manually and using a forklift.
3. Communicate material location changes with the inventory team.
4. Deburr parts and help ensure quality standards are met.
5. Follow the work schedule as assigned and prioritize tasks accordingly.
6. Ensure all produced parts are confirmed in SAP, tagged, and staged correctly.
7. Perform cycle counting as required.
8. Install machine programs and modifications as needed.
9. Operate CNC Mills (Haas TM, Haas VF, Doosan DNM5700), CNC Lathes (Haas SL30, Haas ST40, Doosan Lynx 2600), or plastic routers.
10. Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery.
11. Conduct Quality at the Source checks on parts.
12. Accurately record actual labor estimates on all production orders.
13. Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standards.
14. Be able to stand, walk, bend, and sit for long periods.
15. Occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
16. Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficiency with basic hand tools, squaring, and straight edges.
• Ability to safely load and unload machines with various materials.
• Strong prioritization and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineered drawings.
• Basic to intermediate experience with SAP systems.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Ability to multitask effectively.
• Competence in using imperial and metric measurements.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Capability to work in a high-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of setup functions.
• Attention to detail and safety awareness.

This position is safety sensitive and may be subject to drug testing as permitted by law.

Note: Overtime may be required based on business needs.

Minimum Education / Experience Required

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of experience in a similar environment/position.

OR

• Meets all internal Manufacturing Training/Skills Matrix qualifications for level II.
