What You’ll Do

Your mechanical aptitude, experience with metal cutting machines, sharpening tools, and reading calipers and micrometers are essential for success in this role.

  • Sharpen machine tooling
  • Issue tools and record issues and returns
  • Perform inventory control functions
  • Use Kardex vertical lift for tool check-in/out
  • Inspect tools and equipment for proper operation
  • Write requisitions for repairs or replacements
  • Track tool releases to vendors
  • Perform inventory tasks and preventive maintenance
  • Create purchase orders and manage tooling in multiple work areas
  • Support machine shop vending machines and understand CNC machining
  • Maintain safety procedures for tool handling
  • Be physically able to stand long periods and demonstrate basic math skills
  • Perform basic data entry and problem-solving
Your Experiences & Skills
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience is a plus
  • 3-5 years of experience with industrial or machine shop tooling
  • Knowledge of machine shop tools and repair
  • CNC experience and tool setup skills are advantageous
  • Ability to read blueprints, micrometers, calipers, and obtain forklift license
