What You Will Do
  • Production Machining of routine and custom products using manual mills and lathes.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals to perform set ups and production processes.
  • Calibrate machines to perform operations within its capability by positioning, aligning, securing work, utilizing and adapting appropriate tools.
  • Use analytical skills to formulate machine adjustments and perform the machining process.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to optimize production processes and resolve and develop unique solutions.
  • Utilize of inspection equipment including indicators, micrometers, calipers, and surface plates.
  • Inspect and certify your work product.
  • Work independently using all resources available to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Perform daily, quarterly, annual Preventative Maintenance on equipment.
  • Effectively work in an environment requiring both repetitive and unique products.
  • Maintain focus on safety and quality.
  • Build manufacturing fixtures.
  • Overtime available on a business need basis.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of manual Mill/Lathe experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Two-year machinist/tooling degree.
  • Harding Lathe experience.
  • Bridgeport Mill with Acurite control experience.
  • Production manufacturing experience.
  • Tool making experience.
  • Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and resolve issues and mitigate risks.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprint and technical documentation.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve operational goals.

The hourly range for this role is $21.38 - $40.10. The hourly range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
