Job summary

Kimray in Oklahoma City, OK, seeks a Machinist III to produce machined parts by setting up and operating manual or CNC machines. This is a non-exempt, hourly role in the Manufacturing department. You will verify, measure, troubleshoot, and document processes while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of machine operator experience, relevant training, and strong math/reading skills. Position requires flexibility across shifts and adherence to 6S principles.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ machine operator experience preferred.
• Vocational, technical or machine operator training preferred.
• Advanced machinist math skills and mechanical knowledge required.
• Ability to operate required machines with minimal assistance.
• Working knowledge of print reading and precision measuring.
• Understanding of 6S concepts.
• Must have valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.
• Maintains specifications by observing machine processes, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes and replacing worn tools.
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or a Health Safety and Environmental team member.
• Participates in proactive teams to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary: Responsible for producing machined parts by setting up and operating a manual machine or a computer numerical control (CNC) machine.

Essential Job Functions:

• Manufacturing environment - PPE required in specific areas
• Exposure to seasonal cold and heat
• Frequent exposure to oscillating movement of extremities or whole body, proximity to mechanical parts, moving vehicles and electrical currents
• Consistent skin exposure to oils, greases, adhesives, paints, and other chemicals
• Continuous exposure to atmospheric conditions that may affect the respiratory system
