Job summary

ENVE Composites is seeking a CNC programmer and operator to develop and verify programs for complex parts. You will set up machines, adjust tool offsets, and monitor tooling wear to ensure tight tolerances while producing high-quality components.

The role requires strong blueprint interpretation and hands-on use of Mastercam across multiple CNC platforms. The candidate should have 3+ years in manufacturing and programming, with exposure to CNC controllers and a solid computer skills foundation.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years’ programming experience.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED; technical schooling preferred.
  • Experience with CNC controllers, interpreting blueprints and producing quality parts.
  • Ability to use a computer.

Responsibilities

  • Create and modify CNC programs using Mastercam.
  • Set up and verify new programs; monitor tool wear and adjust offsets.
  • Machine with close tolerances and finish requirements; read blueprints.
  • Perform pre- and post-inspection; conduct preventive maintenance.
  • Cross-train within the department and document records.

JOB SUMMARY

This position will program setup and operate CNC machine’s (e.g., Haas, Fadal, Hyundai-Kia, Fanuc, Kira).

This position will program setup and operate CNC machine’s (e.g., Haas, Fadal, Hyundai-Kia, Fanuc, Kira).

Essential Functions
  • Create new programs for newly developed products, as well as modify existing programs using Mastercam.
  • Setup and verify new programs for newly developed products, including uploading/downloading programs, setting up change tool offsets and operating the machine until batch completion as well as monitoring tool wear, adjusting offsets, and replacing inserts when necessary, ensuring correct operation of the machine.
  • Setup, adjust and perform operations with close tolerance and finish requirements on standardized parts, monitoring the feed/speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Use blueprints, gauges, precision, and torque measuring devices and/or other equipment to effectively machine parts and ensure conformance to quality specifications.
  • Conduct pre and post inspection on all machined parts and perform preventive maintenance as required.
Secondary Functions
  • Assist in identifying issues and initiating corrective action processes as necessary.
  • Ensure all records are captured correctly.
  • Willingness to cross-train within the department, as well as learn other areas to support the Company’s needs.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
  • Adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures as they pertain to this position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY/POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This job does not have any supervisory responsibilities. This is a full-time position; days and hours of work are typically Monday through Thursday, 10 hours per day. However, this position may be required to work up to 12 hours per day, Friday’s, Saturday’s, or alternate shifts as job duties demand. Regular onsite attendance is expected and required.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (R) = Required (P) = Preferred (Equivalent combinations will be considered)

  • (R) High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED); technical school preferred.
  • (R) 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • (R) 3+ years’ programming experience.
  • (R) Ability to use a computer/tablet/keyboard.
  • (R) Experience using hand tools.
  • (R) Experience with CNC controllers, interpreting blueprints and producing quality parts.

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and efficiently with general instruction and limited supervision to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain the pace of work with machine shop.

  • Ability to read and comprehend a variety of SOPs and/or routine engineering design drawings.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Strong interpersonal, decision making, analytical, and problem-solving skills to deal with a variety of changing situations
  • General mechanical aptitude and comfortable working with equipment and tooling
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS (R) = Required (P) = Preferred
  • (P) Machinist certification or schooling.
Physical / Visual Requirements
  • Must be able to work in a loud environment with varying temperatures, maintaining close attention to detail.
  • Requires standing for long periods of time; walking, climbing, lifting, bending, sliding, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, wiping, stretching, reaching above shoulder height and below waist are generally also required to perform the functions of this position.
  • May be required to work with chemicals (e.g., Chemlease, Acetone, IPA, dish soap, etc.).
  • Must be able to perform safe execution of repetitive motions, including repetitively lifting/carrying tools and assemblies weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
