Job summary

CIRCOR Aerospace & Defense in Hauppauge, NY, is seeking an experienced Machinist to operate specialized machinery and perform rough and finish machining on metal components per prints.

You will read blueprints, set up machining cells, and maintain close tolerances. A HS diploma or GED, 10 years of machining experience, and the ability to lift light weights are required. CIRCOR offers Day 1 benefits and competitive pay.

CIRCOR Aerospace & Defense is focused on the design, development, and manufacture of specialty fluid and motion control products for demanding aerospace and defense applications. Position Summary

Operating specialized machinery to perform operation of metal working components to specific processes and prints, requiring close tolerances.

• Plan and perform rough and finish machining on a variety of manual machines.
• You will perform setups independently.
• Perform other duties as responsibilities necessitate.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Manual Lathe experience required.
• You must be able to read blueprints/geometric tolerances.
• Instrumentation /Gaging skills required. Must be familiar with machinist tools and hand tools (micrometers, verniers, indicators, scales, dial bore gage).
• Must be open to coaching and training with a willingness to learn all machines within a cell.
• Some physical effort (avg. 25 lbs).
• US Citizenship is required for DOD requirements.

Education & Experience

• Must have HS diploma or GED equivalent; concentration in machining would be a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience required

Compensation: $30.00- $35.00/ hr
