Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Machinist II (Trainee) to join our team at our Bloomfield, Connecticut location for 2nd shift. The shift hours are 3:15 pm to 12:45 am, Monday through Friday, with one hour of mandatory daily overtime based on business needs.

Our products serve in space, aviation, marine, hydropower, and other industrial applications. As an industry leader, we design, test, and manufacture high-performing, self-lubricating roller bearings, including metal-to-metal and miniature bearings.

Responsibilities:

1. Under close technical supervision, set up, operate, and adjust CNC machine tools to perform standard and repetitive operations, including drilling, honing, boring, milling, turning, and screw machine operations, based on provided programs.
2. Check parts for conformance to specifications.
3. Follow work procedures to meet productivity and quality expectations.
4. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety and environmental regulations, and report incidents.
5. Suggest improvements to work processes and contribute to the 5S program.
6. Provide excellent service to internal and external customers and promote positive teamwork.
7. Perform additional duties as assigned, participate in cross-training, and achieve related results as needed.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Machining certification from an accredited program.
• Experience: Minimum of 6 months machining experience or equivalent.
• Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with machining processes, shop mathematics, blueprint reading, troubleshooting, attention to detail, teamwork, dependability, and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Continuous standing, frequent bending, twisting, grasping, and walking.
• Occasional sitting.
• High mental and visual attention.
