Job summary

HOLT Group in San Antonio seeks a Machinist 2 to perform basic machining tasks and repairs on heavy equipment in our shop under indirect supervision while continuing to learn and develop technical skills.

You will read blueprints, use micrometers, operate hand and power tools, and work with teammates to meet customer needs while upholding safety and company values.

Education: high school diploma or equivalent; experience: two or more years preferred; travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade/technical program preferred.
• At least two years of machining experience; three or more preferred.
• Experience reading blueprints and shop drawings.
• Ability to read ID and OD micrometers.
• Must own basic tools to perform repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic machining tasks and repairs on heavy equipment.
• Manufacture, modify, and repair machine parts and components.
• Work as part of a team to meet customer needs and departmental goals.
• Prepare service reports and paperwork.
• Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas; ensure safety compliance.
• Assist other machinists on large jobs.
