Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Machinist II to operate and set up manual and CNC machines in our shop. The role involves working with various materials such as carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and plastics, ensuring precision and quality in machining operations.

Responsibilities
  • Set up, adjust, and operate all manual and CNC machines, including making tool changes and loading programs.
  • Work from drawings, specifications, and sketches, using precision measuring instruments.
  • Plan feeds, speeds, tooling, and work-holding setups; perform layout work and grind tools as needed.
  • Maintain quality standards, handle materials safely, and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Assist in setting up and training machine operators as required.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant coursework or experience in machining preferred.
  • At least four years of experience in a machine shop, with a preference for experience working with stainless steel.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read blueprints, and proficiency with precision instruments.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate cranes; good spatial awareness and eyesight.
