Job summary

Master Machine LLC, a precision machining and fabrication company headquartered in Chattanooga, TN, is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist. You will set up and operate Mazak and/or FANUC controlled machines, read drawings, select tooling, and inspect parts to tight tolerances.

This full-time role requires at least five years of independent experience and a commitment to quality and safety. You will work with large CNC bridge mills and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with a minimum of five (5) years of experience setting up and operating CNC machine tools independently. The ideal candidate will have experience with Mazak and/or FANUC controls and be proficient in operating machining centers, turning centers, and bridge mills to manufacture precision components that meet customer specifications and industry quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machine tools, including machining centers, turning centers, and bridge mills with minimal supervision.
• Manufacture precision components in accordance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality standards.
• Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, sketches, and work instructions to determine machining requirements.
• Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine settings to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision measuring instruments, gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Measure components, raw materials, and finished parts to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Troubleshoot machining and process issues to maintain productivity and quality.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and machining best practices.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience setting up and operating CNC machine tools independently.
• Experience with Mazak and/or FANUC control systems .
• Strong knowledge of machining centers, turning centers, and CNC bridge mills.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical sketches.
• Proficiency in the use of precision measuring equipment and inspection tools.
• Working knowledge of machining practices, tooling, feeds, speeds, and material properties.
• Ability to apply basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry concepts related to machining and part manufacturing.
• Ability to work effectively with limited supervision while maintaining high quality and productivity standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating large CNC bridge mills .
• Experience machining large or complex components in a manufacturing environment.

• Frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive motions.
• Frequently lift and/or move materials weighing up to 25 pounds .
