Description and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities
  • Formally trained through a Machinist trade school or 1-2 years’ experience in operating and running manual and/or CNC Machines
  • Understand the fundamentals of manual machine work on a lathe or mill.
  • Know how to operate cutting tools like horizontal or vertical band saws.
  • Understand basic hand tools and power tools along with when and where to use them.
  • Have basic computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and most other Microsoft products.
  • Have the ability to navigate all RND Automation software and file information.
  • Have the ability to comprehend mechanical drawings 2D and 3D.
  • Assemble mechanically to the company assembly standards.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with other members of the team.
  • Bring concerns or issues with solutions, if possible, back to the leads and design team for evaluation.
  • Operate machines, when needed, to assist in debug.
  • Keep all work areas organized and free of clutter. This includes putting tools and assemblies away at the end of the day.
  • Show the ability to follow and meet scheduled timelines.
  • Follow company values and always drive forward with the principles of RND Automation’s mission statement and goals.
  • Show a sense of urgency
  • Little to no machining quality issues.
Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma.
  • Formally trained through a Machinist trade school or 1-2 years’ experience in operating and running manual and/or CNC Machines
  • 3-5 years’ experience in CNC Programming and operation.
  • One year proficiency in Fusion 360 Cam Software.
  • Responsible for 1 item/task on the manufacturing floor (exp. nuts and bolts, drills and tap, machine tags, etc..)
  • Understand the basics and programing of additive manufacturing (3D Printing)
  • Higher understanding of job specific tools and testing equipment
  • Shows the ability to work at a higher pace but still hold a high level of accuracy.
  • Works independently, requiring little guidance from Leads or management. • Ability to machine complex parts to a high level of accuracy
  • Cross trained on all current CNC machine
  • Work involves frequent lifting of materials and products up to 30 pounds. Frequent use of hand tools. Long periods standing
