Job summary

Valmet in Shrewsbury, MA is seeking a Manufacturing Technician/Machinist to support daily machining and production operations. You will operate manual and CNC equipment, read engineering drawings, and produce parts that meet specifications while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates are dependable, detail-oriented, with the ability to learn quickly and work well in a team. Prior machining experience is helpful but not required; training will be provided.

• Experience reading basic engineering drawings and specs.
• Ability to use calipers, micrometers and gauges.
• Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual and CNC machining equipment as trained.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Produce parts meeting customer and engineering specs.
• Perform basic inspections with calipers, micrometers, gauges.
• Assist with machine setups and tooling changes.
• Identify and report equipment, quality, or production concerns.
• Maintain a safe and organized work area.
