Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler for onsite work in Santa Isabel, PR. You will perform mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly, testing, fabrication, and inspection of products, following blueprints and specifications to ensure quality and efficiency in a non-standard production environment.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, using hand and electrical tools, and maintaining workstation inventory.

Qualifications

• HS diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Fluent English communication (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship required to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions.
• Operate hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment and light equipment.
• Maintain inventory of product in workstations.
• Perform quality checks and record identified defects.
• Rework and repair assembled equipment according to engineering changes.
• Follow quality standards and safety procedures.
• Work in other production areas as certified and trained.
• Troubleshoot and repair complex units.
• Ability to see, read, and interpret information on screens for extended periods and pass post-offer vision examination.

What You Will Do

• Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions.
• Operate hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment and light equipment.
• Maintain inventory of product in workstations.
• Perform quality work checks, identifies product defects and records identified defects.
• Rework and/or repairs assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
• Operate on occasions in other work areas or building, other production equipment according to their certification, experience and training.
• Perform troubleshooting and repairs of critical and complex units.
• Have knowledge of SAP, MD04, MB51, CA03, CS03 at least (in areas that apply)
• An essential function of this role is the ability to accurately see, read, and interpret information on screens and materials for extended periods. You will be required to successfully complete a post offer vision examination.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
• Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
