What is the Position?

Develop programs for computer-based numerically-controlled equipment to perform unique and innovative operations program. Perform multiple complex set ups and operate a variety of CNC or hybrid machine shop equipment to extremely close tolerances and maintain critical finishes.

What are the key responsibilities?

  • Achieve and maintain appropriate Operator Authorization(s) as required.
  • Set up fixture components for jobs that require CNC machining and manual machines
  • Set machine origins in accordance with the set-up instructions
  • Work to machine dimensions and maintain close tolerances and correlated dimensions with a high demand for squareness, concentricity, finish, and parallelism
  • Set and load all tools in conjunction with set-up instructions to complete assigned jobs
  • Work from basic blueprints, material requests, methods sheets, or other written work instructions.
  • Use a variety of precision measuring instruments, inspect in-process or finished parts and feature characteristics as well as manufacturing methods to blueprint specifications.
  • Train other Machinists as needed on job related assignments.
  • Receive material requests daily and provide material cut to required lengths. Maintain accurate records of all material supplied.
  • Basic computer knowledge to perform labor transactions, and other required functions.

What Education and Qualifications are needed for the job?

  • HS Diploma or equivalent- completed apprenticeship or technical degree
  • 3- 5 years experience
