Readings blueprints, performing quality checks, and collaborating with engineers and quality partners are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience actively working on machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on machining experience (CNC or manual) in a production setting.
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, including weekends, overtime, and holidays as required by production needs.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC and/or manual machining equipment to produce parts that meet engineering and quality specifications.
  • Actively work on machines in a manufacturing environment, ensuring consistent output, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and basic engineering drawings.
  • Perform routine quality checks using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and document results as required.
  • Identify and elevate equipment issues, quality concerns, or deviations from standard work.
  • Support 5S, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives within the machining area.
  • Collaborate with team leads, engineers, and quality partners to meet production and quality goals.

What you will do:

The Machinist I role at Stryker supports CNC and manual machining operations by producing precision metal components that contribute to life‑saving medical technologies. Schedule:

Mon - Thurs 6:00am - 4:30pm

What you need:
Required:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience actively working on machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated hands‑on machining experience (CNC or manual) in a production setting.
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, including weekends, overtime, and holidays as required by production needs.
Preferred:
  • Machinist Certification from an accredited technological or vocational school.
  • Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments (medical device, aerospace, automotive, etc.).
  • Familiarity with basic GD&T concepts.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly (occasional lifting up to 75 lbs. as required with assistance).
  • Ability to perform prolonged standing and physical movements including bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Requires repetitive hand use, manual dexterity, and hand‑eye coordination.
  • Ability to safely operate manufacturing machinery.
  • Work environment may include loud noise and requires use of PPE in designated areas.
