Job summary

Zetec Inc. in Snoqualmie, WA seeks a skilled machinist to perform a range of milling, drilling, and lathe operations on parts from intermediate to complex levels. You will interpret drawings, set up CNC and conventional machines, and verify tolerances with precision measuring tools.

The role requires 3–10 years of machine operation, basic math, and ability to work independently. Familiarity with Fanuc or Okuma IGF controls is preferred and adherence to safety and QA standards is essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 3-10 years’ machine operation experience required.
  • Certification from a technical school in manufacturing and/or machining strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc, Okuma IGF controls desired.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments required.

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

Performs a variety of machining operations such as milling, drilling, lathes, etc., on existing parts ranging from intermediate to complex, in nature.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Performs basic setup and operation of new and existing products using conventional or CNC machines and tools.
  • Interprets blueprints, sketches and engineering specifications.
  • Checks work to ensure dimensions are within prescribed tolerances using a variety of measuring devises.
  • Machines / Modifies work holding fixtures and tooling.
  • Provides input with determining sequence of operations, methods of setup, and machine tool programming.
  • Possesses a solid understanding of the working qualities of various materials (e.g. plastics, stainless steels, aluminum and titanium).
  • Reports discrepancies to supervisor and makes constructive suggestions that may improve production efficiency, profitability and or safety.
  • May provide general assembly functions, as needed.
  • May assist with weekly cycle counts.
  • Aid/assist advanced machinists as directed.
  • Follows all company safety policies and Quality Assurance requirements.
  • Overtime, as required.
  • Other duties as required in support of the department and the company.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions.
  • Ability to read and comprehend manuals, work instructions and SDS sheets common to a machining/production environment.
  • Strong aptitude for intermediate math plus measurement calculations and ability to apply measuring tools to complete parts.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and establish routines.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 3-10 years’ machine operation experience required.
  • Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Experience with precision measuring instruments, required.
  • Certification from a technical school in manufacturing and/or machining industry strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc, Okuma IGF controls desired.
