JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is located in our Sylmar, CA office.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Operates machine tools to perform machining operations on workpieces with close tolerances and finish specifications. Ensures work is done accurately and completely, performing moderate complexity tasks and applying known methods to routine situations. More complex problems are referred to supervisors or senior personnel.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Plan operational sequences, select tooling, speeds, feed rates, and attachments to suit work and material characteristics.
• Position, align, and secure workpieces, ensuring dimensional accuracy and avoiding distortion.
• Grind or prescribe grind for tooling to match material and cutting conditions.
• Maintain machines and sharpen tools as needed.
• Perform heat treating procedures as required.
• Set up/use special test equipment when necessary.
• Notify supervisor of supply needs and technical issues.
• Support company initiatives related to quality, environment, and regulatory compliance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• Associates Degree in Mechanical Technology or related field preferred.
• Minimum 4 years relevant manual and CNC machining experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and use inspection instruments.
• Strong communication, organizational, and math skills.
• Experience working in a cross-divisional environment and ability to travel approximately 10%.

The base pay for this position ranges from $22.05 to $44.15 per hour, depending on location and experience.
