Job summary

Goulds Pumps IPG LLC in Zachary, LA is seeking an entry-level Machinist I to operate various machine tools and produce parts per work orders and blueprints. You will follow established procedures, ensure conformance to tolerances, and adapt with precision techniques as required.

The role requires reading complex drawings, measuring with calipers, and strictly adhering to customer and safety procedures. Experience with machine shop basics and certification requirements is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma.
• General Machinist Certification.
• Experience: Machinist 1 - Minimum of 1 year.
• Read complex drawings/diagrams.
• Capable of following all machine shop procedures.
• Use scales, calipers and other measuring instruments.
• Capable of meeting all certification requirements as per customer specifications.
• Must be disciplined in following all procedures as outlined by the customer.

Responsibilities

• Capable of effectively operating all machines in the facility.
• Understand complicated drawings and specifications, shop arithmetic and use of scales, protractors, squares, precision principles and methods.
• Manufacture repairs that comply with tolerances.
• Must be disciplined in following all procedures as outlined by the customer
• Applies mastery of skills.
• Adapts procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, and materials to meet special needs.
• Perform field service as required
