Job summary

The Oilgear Company is seeking a Machinist I in Spring City, PA to set up and operate a range of shop manual machines on a diversified line of close-tolerance work. You will work from drawings, ensure quality, and maintain safety and 5S practices in a non-air-conditioned shop environment.

You will diagnose tooling issues, participate in continuous improvement, and perform tasks with minimal supervision while adhering to production standards and schedules.

Qualifications

• Set up and operate shop manual machines with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to set up and operate manual lathes, mills, grinders, etc.
• Select speeds/feeds, determine sequences and tooling arrangements.
• Perform inspections using precision measuring gauges and testing equipment.
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and job layouts.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate all shop manual machine tools for progressive machining operations on close-tolerance work.
• Diagnose tooling problems or machine issues and rectify them.
• Maintain production rate and upholding quality standards.
• Keep work area clean and follow safety regulations including 5S practices.
• Work from drawings and job layouts with minimal supervision.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and training documentation.
