Qualifications

Wieland is hiring a Machinist I. The Machinist I will be responsible for the processing of standing work order and programs through operation of CNC based machining centers. Is responsible for fine adjustments within the program and machine parameters. Perform machine changeover, fixturing, part retrieval and placement operations. Performs maintenance, 6s and cleaning duties as directed. Ensures app part are within specifications by conducting and recording in process quality checks. This role is located in Pine Hall, NC and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: $25.00 per hour

Schedule: 2:30 pm - 11 pm

Pay Schedule: biweekly






Responsibilities




Machinist I Responsibilities:

    Follows safe working procedures.
  • Manages the activities of his/her assigned projects.
  • Operates lathes, milling machines, CNC based milling and cutting as well as water jet cutting and sonic cleaning of materials. In addition, operates specialized equipment and processes to complete a quality part.
  • Performs basic cutting.
  • Performs mechanical alignment using precision tools.
  • Performs bench work and fabrication.
  • Performs tool grinding operations.
  • Maintains required records and documentation.
  • Must know when and who to ask for help.

Machinist I Qualifications:

  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations ("ITAR") and the ability to access and handle ITAR "Technical Data" as defined by 22 CFR * 120.33 is an essential function.
  • Accepts and delegates high levels of responsibility for processes affecting the organization's long-term welfare.
  • Deals effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Performs to a high level of self-discipline and ethics to protect the company's interests.
  • Ability to read blueprints, work orders, engineering plans, material specifications, orthographic drawings and reference planes.
  • Ability to judge and hold tight specifications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machine problems.
  • Identify and select proper type of metals for job.
  • In depth knowledge of national and international material-, drawing- and tolerance- standards
  • Commitment to high quality standards
  • Machinist certification and/or Associate's Degree
  • Minimum 3 years' machinist experience
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas and information orally and in writing, in one on one and group situations, meetings, and conducting presentations.
