Job summary

Ascentec Engineering is hiring machinists for our Dallas, Oregon shop. We seek level 1 machinists with strong mechanical aptitude and detail orientation to excel in a quick-turn, high-speed machine environment. Candidates should read prints, perform basic metrology, and support CNC setup and operation across Haas, Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma controls.

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Able to multitask and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Experienced in the set-up and run of 3-axis vertical CNC mills; 4 & 5 axis is a plus.
• Experienced with metrology tools for measuring part dimensions.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload parts for machining up to 40 pounds.
• Perform basic equipment maintenance.
• Read and interpret manufacturing prints.
• Possess efficient math skills and basic understanding of geometric tolerance.
• Check parts using calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges.
• CNC setup and operation; manage work/tool offsets; Haas, Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma controls are a plus.
• Inspect machined parts following 1st part and in-process inspection protocol.
• CNC 3-axis experience; 4 & 5 axis machining experience is a plus.
• Change fixtures and manage tool changes and tool libraries.
