Job summary

Ascentec Engineering is hiring machinists for our on-site Dallas, Oregon facility. We seek individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read prints, set up CNC equipment, and work with Haas, Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma controls.

Shifts include Swing and Weekend Day, with full-time status and competitive shift differentials. Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail and the discipline to excel in a fast-paced shop environment.

  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload parts for machining up to 40 pounds.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance.
  • Read and interpret manufacturing prints.
  • Possess efficient math skills and basic understanding of geometric tolerance.
  • Check parts using basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges.
  • CNC setup and operation; Haas, Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma controls are a plus.
  • Inspect machined parts following 1st Part and in process inspection protocol.
  • CNC 3 axis experience; 4 & 5 axis machining experience is a plus.
  • Able to change fixtures, replace tool changes and manage tool libraries.

Job description

Ascentec Engineering is hiring! We are looking for machinists to join our team in Dallas, Oregon.

We are looking for level 1 machinists. Qualified candidates must possess skills necessary to successfully function in a quick-turn, high-speed machine shop. This position presents a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude/skills and attention to detail with many avenues for career growth.

Shifts Available:
  • Swing Shift: Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
  • Weekend Day Shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

All shifts are full-time and eligible for an industry-leading shift differential.

This position is on site at our Dallas, Oregon facility and not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship.

Requirements
JOB RESPONSIBILTIES: Included, but not limited to:
  • Load and unload parts for machining up to 40 pounds.

  • Check parts using basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges.
  • CNC setup and operation; tech tools, load programs and set/adjust work/tool offsets accordingly. Haas, Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma controls are a plus.
  • Inspect machined parts following 1st Part and in process inspection protocol.
  • CNC 3 axis experience, 4 & 5 axis machining experience is a plus.
  • Able to change fixtures, replace tool changes and manage tool libraries.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Able to multitask and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experienced in the set-up and run of 3-axis vertical CNC mills, 4 & 5 axis is a plus.
  • Experienced with multiple metrology tools for measuring and recording part dimensions.

  • Trade school and/or at least one year experience in the manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS:
  • $19 to $27 per hour DOE
