Job summary

Crane Company is seeking a skilled machinist in Spartanburg, SC. You will operate lathes, mills, drills, grinders, and CNC machines following established procedures and specifications. You will read blueprints and measuring equipment to ensure accuracy.

You will make tooling changes, expedite orders, use standard measuring tools to take readings and document data, and maintain a safe, 5-S compliant work area. You will participate in plant improvement projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Operate a range of machining equipment, following established procedures and specifications.
• Read blue prints, charts, and measuring equipment.
• Make tooling changes and adjustments.
• Expedite scheduled orders.
• Utilize standard measuring tools in order to take readings, verify quality and document data.
• Complete repetitive operations under detailed instructions.
• Seek assistance for resolving difficult operating problems.
• Maintain a safe work environment and uses proper safety devices as provided.
• Abide by and actively promotes all facility safety guidelines and quality procedures.
• Maintain a channel of communication between management and team members.
• Monitor personal productivity to ensure that established quality and production levels are maintained to support the business mission statement.
• Maintain 5-S Standards in work area.
• Actively participate in plant improvement projects and teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
