Job description

Job Title: Machinist – Hobbing and/or Shaping
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Shift: 1st Shift
Pay: Based on Experience (BOE)

Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a skilled Machinist with experience in hobbing and/or shaping operations. This is a full-time, first-shift position based in Milwaukee, WI. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with gear cutting processes and be capable of setting up and operating specialized machines to meet precise tolerances and production standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate hobbing and/or shaping machines to cut gears and splines to specifications.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and gear specifications.

  • Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure quality and accuracy.

  • Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain part quality.

  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on machines.

  • Document production data and maintain accurate records of work performed.

  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience operating hobbing and/or shaping machines in a machining or manufacturing environment.

  • Strong blueprint reading and mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments.

  • Solid understanding of gear geometry and machining principles.

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail, quality focus, and dependable work ethic.
