Job summary

Donaldson Company in Dixon, IL is seeking an experienced Machinist to set up and operate CNC and conventional mills and lathes for aerospace and industrial components.

You will read blueprints, edit G and M code, inspect first article reports, and ensure parts meet engineering specifications while adhering to quality policies and collaborating with the team.

Qualifications

• Six years of consistent machining experience, CNC or conventional, both mills and lathes.
• Must be able to program CNC machines; read and understand blueprint features and machine shop routers.
• Ability to read, understand, and edit G and M code programming (CNC only).

Job description

Position Overview

The Machinist position is located in Dixon, IL.

Set up and operate mill and lathe machines (both CNC and conventional) to produce aerospace and industrial components. Work independently with no supervision, inspecting all features to ensure conformance with engineering requirements, specifications, and special instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate conventional and CNC machines at the highest level for production of aerospace and industrial components.
• Set up conventional and CNC machines (both mills and lathes) with no supervision.
• Understand, maintain, and execute Donaldson Quality Policies and Procedures.
• Adjust and/or modify programs to bring parts into tolerance.
• Serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
• Use inspection equipment to complete in‑process inspection and first article reports.
• Assist in orientation and training of lower-level employees.
• Perform basic machine maintenance as required.
• Inspect the manufactured product for uniformity, conformance, and record.
• Comply with all DOT, HAZMAT, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Hours: Monday through Thursday, 4:00am to 2:00pm.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, understand, and edit G and M code programming (CNC only).

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Rate: $31.71. Actual salaries may vary based on experience, training, education, and performance. This position is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on performance and company growth.
