Job summary

Rbc-Bearings in Compton, CA, seeks an experienced CNC lathe setup operator to join our manufacturing team. You will set up and operate CNC lathes to meet daily production and quality requirements, following strict QC standards and documenting results.

Job description

Essential Functions of the Job
  • Set up.
  • Operate CNC machines lathes to meet daily production and quality requirements.
  • Follow company quality control standards, including in-process inspection and documentation.
  • Model safe behaviors.
  • Monitor the machining of metal parts to print specifications.
  • Adjust programs.
  • Perform Offsets.
Education
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
Experience
  • Must have at least five years of current CNC lathe setup experience.
  • Formal CNC training experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, set up machines, edit offsets within programs, and perform tool offset adjustments as required to machine specialty bearings.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines.
  • Skilled in inspecting dimensions machined, including threads, inner diameters, outer diameters, lengths, widths, and undercuts/grooves.
  • Skilled in inspecting finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering prints.
  • Ability to make decisions, communicate effectively, and work well with others in a team environment.
  • Must be a quick learner.
  • Ability to give, receive, and follow written and verbal instructions in English and communicate job‑related information to others.
Physical & Environmental Factors
  • Perform duties indoors within office and manufacturing areas.
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Noise level usually moderate or loud.
  • Frequently required to sit, talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stand and walk.
  • May lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Close vision required.

Minimum Salary: $28 to $34

Compliance: This role is subject to ITAR and EAR requirements, and the incumbent must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or have refugee or asylee status.
